Day 7 - Calm

This is our last day to discuss being calm and how to do so. I also want to let you know that there will be some changes to how I update my meditation discussions going forward. I will send out another blog soon with more information.

I will not quote that saying about what assumptions do to you.  However, we do it alot. We try to outthink situations with our own bias because we just know it is right. Those who attempt to be calmer in their life will have the time and space in their mind to stop and think about a situation before they make an assumption that is wrong.  Think before you speak is very important and also think before you act as well. Mediate on finding calm and carrying it with you to avoid these pitfalls.

Day 6 - Calm

Merry Christmas! Today may be a calm day for you but for most of us spending time with family is not exactly calming. Thich Nhat Hanh provides for you in his quote some ways to find calm. Sometimes just taking a step outside helps. Today where I live it will be in the 70s. Not exactly Christmas weather for most but it does allow for time outside. Take some time today to find your calm and try to carry it with you.

Day 5 - Calm

Because we are distinctly different each of us has a part of the universe in us. A part that is the best and can be a shining light. Don't let anyone else who has not discovered this truth dim your light. Each day take a calm moment in meditation and find that light within. Shine bright and never forget how important you are to those around you.

Day 4 - Calm

Be the Bamboo! Bend but don't break. Show calmness in the face of adversity. In the world of chakras you are to ground and center. This means that you should focus your energy on your root chakra which when sitting is the ground and center your mind down the central meridian of your body. This will provide calmness and peace to you. Calmness is never easy but learning the tools will help you deal with people and situations that can frustrate or anger you. You are a light and when you are calm rays of the light shine from you.

Day 3 - Calm

Rushing around, constantly having something to do, feeling all tied up...this is the life for most of us. But I will tell you now after two or more years of daily meditation, I can not tell when I am holding things in. For some reason this week, my shoulders have felt tight and a little sore. Immediately I thought that I am holding something that I need to let go of. Your body is a mirror of your mind. If you mind is cluttered and frustrated your body will have issues also. One of my favorite movies it Contact with Jody Foster and I think some of it is because of the scene where they insist upon putting a chair in the machine when it was not in the specs. They are trying to control this event in someway. What we find out is that the chair is dangerous and causes the trip to be less enjoyable until she gets out of it. So get out of the chair and float see the beauty around you and sometimes just allow life to happen.

Day 2 - Calm

I have found this quote to be true. It may not completely wipe it out but it can help you better able deal with pain. As I have mentioned before, I have peripheral neuropathy that we have not found a cause for. I am on pain medications that dull it most of the time but while I was finding out what to do, I used meditation to help me get through some of the pain. I had seen stories of others who while meditating focused on sending healing to areas of pain and I used that tool to help me also. Calmness in mind can lead to a calm physical body. Mind over matter is a true thought and you too can use meditation to help you.

Day 1 - Calm

Today we will begin a week of discussing calm. As I hope that you know by now, many of the things we discuss are because I need them in my life. Generating calm is one of those things. It is so easy to get yourself worked up within your own mind and find later that it wasn't worth all that effort. As a part of improving my health, I believe that it is important to find my inner calmness and carry it with me as much as possible. So today let's meditate on taking the calmness found within ourselves and bring it forward to use all day!

Day 7 - Perseverance

This week of talking about perseverance has done one thing for me - help me learn how to spell perseverance. Beyond that I hope that we have all learned that it is not always the first attempt that gets us to our goals but like the quote it is the many attempts that eventually get us there. If you give up at 99 hits on the stone then you will never see the completion of your work. It is difficult to keep trying but eventually you find the spot that works and gives you what you need. Meditate today on not stopping until you have gotten to where you want to be.

Day 6 - Perseverance

Completing your dreams come from a belief that you can do it. Once you have that belief then what you need to make the dreams a reality will be provided. The universe is there to help you if only you ask and believe that it will. Faith in yourself and what you can do is an important factor in being positive and getting what is the most important to you. Mediate on believing truly in your heart that your dreams can be a reality and then make them so.

Day 5 - Perseverance

Remember the tortoise and the hare? Slow and steady. The hare stopped alot and did not win the race. Stopping takes the focus off your goals. However, sometimes you have to slow down and take your time to make the right decision and continue ahead. Meditate on understanding that time is critical and even if doing it a little slower you can still accomplish great things.

Day 4 - Perseverance

Are you doing more? Are you pushing beyond what is easy? Being in a comfortable place is nice for awhile. However, one day you will wake up and wonder what you were doing with all that time that did not amount to anything. Sure I am often going to tell you to find time to rest but overall that still may mean that you are pushing beyond your norm. Balance is the key to life. No matter what you are doing you need to be moving forward and sometimes that involves taking a break. Very strange, right? Find the thing that means the most to you and keep working at it. Meditate on being in balance and continuing on each day.

Day 3 - Perseverance

So are you a mighty oak? Have you held your ground in the things that you want to accomplish. Life sometimes loosens us from the ground but if we hold out long enough we will become a tree that can stand up to any storm. Meditate on growing to your potential by continuing to persevere in your goals.

Day 2 - Perseverance

Circumstances do not create negativity, you do. If you are constantly being beat up by life you might should look internally to see what you are doing to cause it. If you are blaming others or the circumstances around you then you are not considering the correct cause. Decide that you want to do or be better and do it. Even if it is a slow one step at a time at least you are moving and changing. One of my favorite things that Maria says in one of my favorite movies The Sound of Music is that "you have to make your life." You can not wait for it or constantly complain about what things caused it to be wrong. If you are only looking for blame not only will it never get better but you will become more and more negative in your thoughts. Meditate on finding the spark within you that can get past blame and to working toward improvement.

Perseverance

We will talk this week about perseverance. How often do we get frustrated and just give up? Sometimes that is ok if you are working toward something that is not your true goal. But if it is in your heart and you give up then you have truly failed. Take a step back instead of getting frustrated and keep practicing, keep moving forward. Meditate on your goals and dreams and stay on the path to reaching them.

Gratitude

We have discussed gratitude many times before. However, in this instance I would like to show some gratitude to my husband Scott. We recently went on a trip that totally took him out of his comfort zone. It could have been scary for all of us had he had a hard time dealing with it. But he planned and planned and planned. Well, anyone who knows him understands. Because of his planning he made the trip for my daughter and I so much better. I complained alot about the walking but it could have been so much worse without the planning and his overall good attitude. I was so impressed with how he showed a caring heart when dealing with others on this trip. He took very good care of us and made sure we had a good time. I know that I should show my thanks to him more so I decided to give him this blog post to show how much I appreciate all that he does. Take some time today to show gratitude for someone you love.

Tenacity

Are you dreaming big? If so, are you working hard to be the person who can make that dream come true? Giving up is easy. Continuing to move forward even after setbacks is a sign of growth and a tenacious will. Some days you just want to say the heck with it but the next day will be better and your goal will be closer. Meditating everyday takes tenacity becuase somnetimes it just seems to much. However, I find that if I start it always helps in the end. Show your tenacity!

Limit Short Term Decisions

This one came to me this morning. Too often I think we make a quick decision on something that will affect us longer term based on a feeling and not on what will work best. For example, you might buy a car that is not practical based on how much you travel, it's repair history or insurance costs because you feel like you deserve it and it is the kind of car you always wanted. If you can afford to make that kind of choice then great. However, many of us can not do that and should consider other factors than what we want to make a good long term choice.  Quick decisions based on feelings that can be long term concerns will not bring peace to you. There will continue to be other quick decisions that you will have to make because the feelings did not take into account what can happen. Use meditation to clear your mind of quick feelings and help yourself make better decisions.

Feel Your Life

Don't let life take your heart and soul. Instead even in the most difficult of things send love out and it will return to you. Don't be scared to live. What happens if you do something that makes you happy? Most of the time it doesn't hurt anyone and only helps you. Allow yourself to be mended no matter the experience and then continue to show love.

Are You A Hero?

I am concerned about our world and what we will be leaving for generations after us. There is such a selfish feeling around right now.  So many are worried about what is out there for them. Meanwhile, we destroy our environment, wage unnecessary wars and limit the creativity of everyone. It can be overwhelming if you think about how we can change. I would hate to think that it would take a catastrophic change to help us remember that we are all one no matter what we appear to be like on the outside. We have to start somewhere so be a hero, make an intent to improve the lives of those closest to you. Mediate on seeing the need and filling it. Maybe we can make the world better one small step at a time.

How Do We Improve the World

You will hear often that we improve the world by first improving ourselves. And on some level that is true. But how do we do that? Do we become selfish and look out only for ourselves? Do we go the complete opposite way and only focus on helping others? Of course there is a balance. But I encourage you not to focus on either but more than anything become informed. Yes, learn daily. Seek out truth not just what you want to hear. When you understand what is happening around you instead of just accepting what you are told you become informed and can help yourself and others. I do believe that meditation is a great way to help yourself but don't take just what I say, go out and research. See how it has or has not helped others. This means that when you choose something important to you it will be backed with a supported belief. Seek often, learn always.

Starting Meditation

Sure we have talking together on this blog for over a year but it does not hurt to go back to the beginning for some of you and give you methods on how to start meditating. This image does a good job of giving to tips on how to meditate without stressing yourself about it. Open or closed eyes, it does not matter. Time is not important but consistency is. How you sit is not the main thing but that you relax and release tension. Breath is your focus at first but as you go you can focus on more specific areas of need. So start meditating today even if it is just a minute or two.

Opening Doors with Reiki

Meditation is a way to open doors and Reiki assists in increasing that ability.  A practice that includes both can bring your peace and positivity. I am not as dedicated to both as I should be but each day brings the ability to try again. You should look at yourself holistically and combine your spiritual with your physical to create a whole that represents your true self. The spiritual side will not be the only thing you will need but you will also need to work on your daily routines including food, exercise and communication with others. Today when meditating place a focus on improvement holistically.

Life Force Energy

Reiki is a knowledge on how to be a conduit for life force energy. We do not heal but we allow for you to find a place to heal yourself. Everyone is energy and has energy around them. Often by focusing on healing that energy you can heal yourself. This thought is not only used in Reiki but also in other practices such as acupuncture. Reiki is open to all and will always go where needed even if you focus in a different area. It is simply being open to the energy that helps. Meditation also can work with this energy when you focus on clearing you mind and heart. When meditating think about your life force energy and how it can heal and substain you.

Benefits of Reiki

Above are just some of the benefits of Reiki. Many of these are also provided with meditation. Utilizing both can calm you more than just one alone. I will admit that it can be hard to maintain a Reiki practice along with meditation and sometimes I do them together because Reiki should take 30 minutes or more to complete properly. Through my training I am now able to do distance Reiki for others. As practitioners we can also utilize Reiki to assist with more intangible issues in the world. Reiki is like using "the force" to aid you in healing and clear thinking. As you meditate today focus on one of the benefits above that can help you.

The Five Principles of Reiki

Reiki has some close ties to meditation as they can go hand in hand to aid in healing. The five principles of Reiki concern letting go of negative and being positive and grateful in your efforts. It starts with just for today so that you don't feel that it requires a great effort from you. Just focus on today. Meditation should also include the positive over the negative and a feeling of purpose. Today let go and focus on others.

Reiki and Focus

I hope that you all enjoyed the series with Deepak Chopra. Now we turn back to me and I have decided to focus a little time on Reiki. As a practitioner of Reiki, I want to provide you with some basics. At some point, I may create my own training program for you to use in learning Reiki on your own. What you learn is that Reiki should be shared and that Reiki will go where it is needed no matter your process. I have not used it as faithfully as I should but it can help your meditiation as well as your health. So during your meditation today take a first step by holding your hands over your eyes for a few minutes and willing the energy of Reiki to fill you and clear your heart and mind. I believe you will learn a good bit about yourself as we discuss Reiki.

Day 22 - Living at the Center of the World

I apologize for missing yesterday but here is the final installment from this round of the Chopra Meditation series. I hope that you have gotten some good from this time. This final day discusses how our thoughts make our world. This is so true. I see so many people whose worlds are so negative because that is how they think. The same thing for someone else would be positive. I have been on vacation this week and my daughter keeps reminding me to look at the positive when my feet and legs are really hurting. I am thankful to her on this special day because she keeps me on the positive side. When you want to think negative stop and look around at the world you are creating, make it better.

"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. With our thoughts we make the world." – Gautama Buddha

To claim to live at the center of the world is clearly a delusional statement from the standpoint of the separate self, but from the perspective of your essential being, pure awareness, it is only stating a truth latent in every awakening soul.

Today’s meditation is about this core truth of our consciousness – that our awareness moving as our thoughts, desires, feelings, and senses generates an experiential reality or world around us. We are the authors of this world.

Day 21 - Love Is The Eternal Connection

Radiating peace and love can be very difficult especially with people who do not that you come in contact with. They will work on your patience and peaceful heart. Take deep breaths and remember that they do not yet have your connection and try to show them love instead of negativity. This has been hard for me but I will continue to work on it.

"Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.” – Rumi

As consciousness continues to grow and our hearts make more and more connections to other hearts, we find that we are indeed radiating peace from the inside out. Looking more closely, we discover that these waves of peace are also waves of unconditional love, and that pure love is the spiritual heartbeat that connects us all.

Today’s meditation tells us that this love is the driving force of all life. To awaken to this truth within us is our purpose and our promise.

Day 20 - Peace is the Deepest Connection

Deepak today is commenting that peace does not come from struggle but from the inner workings of our heart and the silence within. Take a moment today to find inner peace.

“Real peace is not in power, money, or weapons, but in deep inner peace.” – Thích Nhất Hạnh

If history has shown us anything, it is that we cannot attain peace by fighting for it. But struggle and opposition is all the separate self knows how to do, even in the name of peace. To find peace, we need to go beyond our restless mind to our silent source. In the stillness of our hearts, our awareness not only finds peace, but we also recognize that we are peace itself.

Today’s meditation is about knowing our true nature as peace and becoming a unit of peace consciousness for the world.

Day 19 - Repairing the Disconnects

Deepak comments in this meditation that we are all connected and as a part of that connection we should work to respect others, listen to them and find common ground. Each of us are a point of a connection that can either bring peace or anxiety to the whole. Work toward the peace.

“Love is the strongest medicine. It is more powerful than electricity.” – Neem Karoli Baba

Sometimes, in spite of our vision of unity, we need to acknowledge places where there are long-standing and deeply entrenched divisions. These big disconnects need to be addressed directly to find common ground and resolve conflict.

Today’s meditation gives us three keys to resolving conflict: real listening, respect for the other side’s perspective, and finding common interest.

Day 18 - Satsang: Finding Joyful Communion

I apologize for missing yesterday, very worn our from a field trip.

This blog is an attempt at Satsang. A place of communion for anyone who wishes to be a part of it. Create your own level of Satsang and influence the world around you with positivity.

Satsangs are what the world needs. Heart to heart – that's what Satsang is.” – Ram Dass

When you connect with others who also hold a vision of world peace, compassion, and human dignity, you are magnifying the power of your positive influence in the world many times over. This is the power of spiritual community, or Satsang

Today’s meditation encourages us to seek out and share ourselves in spiritual communities that will amplify our influence in the environment, helping to make the world a more peaceful and loving place.

Day 17 - Sadhana: Walking the Joyful Path

As stated below by Deepak, your path is your own. Others maybe walking and doing some of the same things that you are but ultimately you must follow your own road. You must learn things about yourself on this journey and use them to aid in making it through with happiness and joy.

“The key to growth is the introduction of higher dimensions of consciousness into our awareness.” – Lao Tzu

Today’s meditation is about the importance of following your spiritual path. The word “your” is significant because everyone’s journey into self-awakening is unique. Even if you are practicing the same meditation today as every other person joining our Meditation Experience, or you follow the same religion as a billion other Christians or Muslims, your particular life circumstances, challenges, gifts, and aspirations will make your spiritual path yours and yours alone. Along the way you must learn how to find trust in yourself – in your inner strength, courage, and inspiration.

Day 16 - Seva: The Connection of Joyful Service

Yesterday we discussed how we are a large part of the people of the world. Today Deepak reminds us that in service to those people is where we find our greatest joy. When we are always focusing on ourselves we bring negativity into our world and that of others. Yes, we need to make sure that we are aware and open but when we step outside of ourselves and help others our happiness can not be measured.

“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.” – John Holmes

Today’s meditation focuses on the spiritual connection that is developed with the world when we offer selfless service to others. In the wisdom tradition of India this is called Seva – action that is not motivated by the ego, but rather is for the benefit and interests of others.

Not only do we help others through our service, but we also gain spiritually in joy and compassion, and that lifts us up as well.

Day 15 - Connecting to the World

You are not an ant on a large ball. You are a connector to those around you and those far away. Remember that your life is as important as anyone else's on this planet. Through your service and positive attitude you uplift the whole of humanity whether you believe it or not. When you feel negative remember that putting that out in the world affects us all so share the positive.

“You change the world by being yourself.” – Yoko Ono

We may see our lives and our sphere of influence in the world in quite modest terms because we are looking at the relatively small number of people we relate to, compared to the 7.5 billion people across this big world. But from the soul’s perspective, we all have a direct connection and relationship with every soul on the planet. The deeper and clearer our inner awareness is, the deeper and clearer our connection to all of humanity. This is how, in our own small way, we can have a real effect on the world.

Today’s meditation shows us how to maximize this connection through service, spiritual practice, and sharing experiences with like-minded people.

Day 14 - The Mirror of Relationship Tells The Truth

Good relationships provide you a window into who you are. They allow you to be, without question. Sometimes though you will see that the person you are is not who you want to be. That is the benefit of those relationships. They show you how you can be better. Hold up that mirror to help improve.

“Relationship is a mirror in which you can see yourself, not as you would wish to be, but as you are.” – Jidda Krishnamurti

Today’s meditation teaches us that the strong reactions we have in different aspects of our relationships can be an indispensable tool in understanding unconscious areas of our life that need work or healing.  Relationships hold up a mirror for us to see what we usually ignore or deny. The main truth to gain from the mirror of relationship is self-acceptance – that you are okay right now, just as you are.

Day 13 - Life at the Center: The Core of Your Relationships

Relationships are not kept together by your pure will. They must be nourished and treated well. Often we take advantage of our relationships and expect them to always be there. But if we focus only on ourselves relationships will come and go much more quickly. Look outside and really listen and see the other people who you are close to.

“A solid anchor is indispensable to one who intends to live life fully. It is to have a vital spiritual base.” – Steve Goodier

All the relationships in our life push and pull us in varying ways and to different degrees. Trying to meet these demands from the false sense of ego strength never works in the long run. In today’s meditation, we learn that the strength, clarity, compassion, and insight required for thriving relationships can only come from our source, our center.

Day 12 - Finding Out What You Really Need

"I really need to have that car." "I really need to make more money." Those statements come out of our mouths more than they should. We do not really need things. What we really need is love and support. Focusing on who we are in our hearts and minds and requesting those needs from the universe is more important. Find what you truly need by looking for the intangibles that make you happy.

“Be present in all things and thankful for all things.” – Maya Angelou

We are used to listing our needs based on the distorted perspective of the ego. When we learn to live from the level of our true self, we discover that our real need is to open up to the growth opportunities that are in the present moment.

Today’s meditation connects us to our essential nature, pure awareness, giving us the platform on which we can fulfill this core need of living fully in the now.

Day 11 - The Art of Awareness

Being calm and aware of how others are being affected is important. This is especially true with those who are most valuable in your life. Take the time to list and pay attention to them and if there is something that is needed by you. Be open and mindful of the souls that surround you.

“The first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance.” – Nathaniel Branden

Today’s meditation is about learning the art of awareness in relationships. The first awareness skill is to become aware of any imbalance in the give-and-take in the relationship. Next is being able to sense when the connection is getting stronger or weaker. And finally learning to be in a state of detached awareness. Having awareness that is nonattached means you are fully aware of what is happening, but your stability and clarity are not disturbed by life events and circumstances.

Day 10 - The Joy of an Intimate Relationship

Relationships require work. But guess what? Not work on the other person but work on yourself. Communication however is key. You have to talk with the other person about the work you are doing with yourself so they understand and don't feel left out or that you are growing without them. Make efforts to grow together into a strong unit. Sometimes the other half just can not grow with you and difficult choices have to be made. But try to be together in growth and love.

“Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone – we find it with another.” – Thomas Merton

The most intimate relationship we can share with another is a soul connection. Physical and emotional intimacy are profound human experiences of sharing, but when we connect our true self to another true self, we experience a spiritual love and joy that goes beyond personal pleasure or affection.

Today’s meditation is about finding that place of spiritual love within that recognizes our true self in the true self of the beloved.

Day 9 - Making a Good Relationship Better

It is important that we do not take any of our relationships for granted. This meditation involves remembering to listen and show appreciation. It also discusses working harder on making deeper connections with those most important to us. Take the time to find how best the other person in your relationship needs attention and provide that when possible.

“As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.” – Albert Schweitzer

In today’s meditation, we explore how we can improve the two basic types of relationships we have in our lives. For static relationships, which are the more comfortable and predictable connections we have, we improve them with appreciation and real listening. Dynamic relationships are deeper, more meaningful, and also more challenging. We make dynamic relationships better by allowing the intimacy of our connection to continue to grow.

Day 8 - Improving Every Relationship

Simply put - be an example! Show to others you positive outlook and your belief in improvement together and overall all of your relationships will become greater.

“Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, and most underrated agent of human change.” – Bob Kerrey

If we want to improve our relationships, we must start by being an agent of change ourselves. We can affect positive change by basing our beliefs on a vision that uplifts everyone – by consciously communicating with others, and acting with awareness and understanding. These self-aware messages you send from yourself to others act as powerful forces of positive change in all your relationships.

Day 7 - Giving Yourself Permission to Heal

How often do we wallow in our own pain? Either saying we deserve it or maybe even using it for attention. We need to move past that by letting the feelings go and allow ourselves to heal. Use this meditation today to find that place where you can let go.

“Awareness in itself is healing.” – Frederick Salomon Perls

Knowing that we can heal the old pain in our hearts gives us hope that we can realistically create deep, loving relationships. In our meditation today, we learn that the next step toward healing is to consciously give ourselves permission to heal.

This means opening up and connecting to our inner love and kindness. As we open and expand into our true being, we are accepting and permitting genuine healing to occur. From this core healing, we find it easy and enjoyable to connect with others.

Day 6 - The Healing Power of Awareness

“Awareness is like the sun. When it shines on things they are transformed.” – Thích Nhất Hạnh

Today in meditation, we learn that awareness itself has the power to heal the pain and conflict we have in our relationships. Just as the body has a natural healing response when it is hurt, the mind also has the inherent intelligence and power to heal its emotional trauma and pain through awareness. The key is to not interfere with that healing response by getting in our own way through self-criticism, resentment, and blame. Meditation expands awareness and activates the healing response from our deepest self.

Day 5 - Coming Out of the Disconnect

Today Deepak talks about being open in heart. We have talked about this many times here. Opening your heart and being willing to risk rejection will greatly improve your life. Understanding that rejection is one sided and that you can still be loving in the face of it, is a major step to happiness.

“Everything exposed to the light becomes visible, and everything that is illuminated itself becomes light itself.” – St. Paul

Even though we all seek meaningful connections, we also often avoid closeness and intimacy because it can be scary to our ego self, making it feel vulnerable and threatened. When that happens, we turn off and disconnect emotionally. We retreat into our false, separate self as a defense mechanism.
In today’s meditation, we learn that our real self never fears or feels threatened by heartfelt connections. It only knows how to connect and how to love. As our true nature blossoms, our ego fears and defenses dissolve in the light of our love.

Day 4 - Making Heart to Heart Connections

This one will be a tough one because it asks that you go out in the world with an open heart and not fearful. To be loving in the face of anger and negativity. To be calm when other are in chaos. Meditate today on overcoming the fear of rejection and simply expect it understanding that ultimately it is the love that matters.

“You must love in such a way that the person you love feels free.” – Thích Nhất Hạnh

In today’s meditation, we learn that to make real heart-to-heart connections with others, we must bring our inner light of love out into the world. For this we use our conscious intention and willingness for our awareness to be open, accepting, and loving to all. That fearless expansion of the light in your heart will naturally find and connect with other hearts.

Day 3 - Bringing the True Self Home

Deepak today talks about finding our true selves and basing our relationships on who we really are and not who we think we are. When you can base how you live on who you are you find that things work better for you and your friendships are stronger for it.

“Each one has to find his peace from within.” – Mahatma Gandhi

We have all experienced those moments in life when we felt loved, secure, and at peace; that is your true self shining through. This core self is the real basis for all successful and rewarding relationships in your life. The true self is fundamentally different than our false self with its ego-centered desires, judgments, and goals. When we try to establish relationships based on our ego needs, we invariably find conflict.

In today’s meditation, we learn that when we experience our essential self and make it our core identity, we have found the common ground of love and peace to connect with others.

Day 2 - Ideal Relationships and Where They Come From

So today's meditation with Deepak is a continuation of things we have already discussed. You can not love others truly unless you love yourself first. The best relationship you should have is with yourself and then others will follow. If you wish to join remember to go to www.choprameditation.com.

“For I no sooner in my heart divin'd my heart, which by a secret harmony still moves with thine, joined in connection sweet.” – John Milton

In today’s meditation, we learn that ideal relationships are based on how we relate and connect to our core self. To feel loved, respected, cared for, and close to others, we must find and feel those values for ourselves first. All that we seek in relationships will only be found if we start by knowing and actualizing love in our own being.

Day 1 - All Relationship Is Connection

Today we will begin another 21 day meditation event with Deepak Chopra. This one is entitled Creating Peace from Inside Out: The Power of Connection. How appropriate a topic for what I am working through right now. As we have talked about in the past, Deepak Chopra does these events periodically free for everyone to be a part of and it is a great place for a beginner to start and learn meditation skills. If you are interested in signing up you can go to this link. www.chopracentermeditation.com

Today's topic is Ideal Relationships and Where They Come From. Below are the thoughts provided to us from Chopra concerning this topic prior to today's meditation. I believe we will get a good bit out of his thoughts on these subjects.

“A bond is a deep connection that cannot be broken – heart and heart are connected.” – Pheng Xiong

Welcome to our 21-Day Meditation Experience, Creating Peace from the Inside Out: The Power of Connection. We are happy you are joining us in this Meditation Experience to learn how to become your peaceful self from deep within your own heart. On this journey over the next three weeks, we will come to understand and experience that peace starts from the inside out.
Today’s meditation teaches us that to create heart-to-heart connections, we must begin by connecting to our own true self. Secondly, that our relationships will be strong, loving, and nurturing when our awareness is expanded. Over the next 21 days, we will explore how the peace and love we find inside can grow and connect with others through all our relationships.
