The Call

Are we being the light? Are we hearing the call to help? A large aspect of healing yourself is helping others heal. Taking the focus off yourself and centering it on others who need it more can be healing. It is difficult not to wallow in self pity when you are in pain. However, getting out of the negative hole can lessen your pain. Meditating today on getting outside of myself.

I begin every day with this thought. I might have made mistakes yesterday but today I can begin again. I am grateful to have another opportunity to get it right. Each day you wake up is a blessing. I personally needed this one today. I feel recently like I talk too much instead of listening more. I think that I am getting over expressive and should find a calmer place to begin from. Accepting

Do you accept who you are? Of course we can always grow and learn but ultimately have you forgiven and shown love to yourself. It is easier to forgive others but when we allow it for ourselves we are more open to love others. Being just who you are and accepting that it should not matter what anyone else thinks is freeing. Life is too short to be something that you are not. Meditating today on forgiveness and acceptance of myself.

Part of meditation is changing your mindset and your internal monologue. Meditation aids in helping you understand that others have their own faults and problems. This can decrease the negativity and judgment that automatically show up in your thoughts. All allowing you to be more at peace. Goals Again

Well let's not do this one. We will not have a means of getting to our goals if all of our tires are down. I am struggling as a parent right now with keeping my daughter from quitting. She wants everything to go as planned or wants to know everything and when she doesn't she just slows down and starts to give in. I try to tell her that mistakes are our teachers and that we need goals but the journey and the learning count most. I hope that it sinks in. We all need to remember the same and not slash our tires. Meditating today on leading by example and not quitting.

Quitting

Laundry is not something I enjoy. Most of us probably don't either. So adding to it is not helpful. Almost everyday I have a moment where I want to quit. Quit working. Quit dealing with pain. Quit moving. But everyday I get up and move and deal and work. I do this because there is love and joy and peace. There is a little girl who always makes me smile. There is a man who makes me laugh and there are friends and family who give me hugs. Keep going. Remember that it is all worth it in the end. Who needs more laundry?!

Discipline

Not sure that this is true all of the time. However, setting goals, creating a structure to reach those goals and following through will in most cases lead to success. Let me admit first that I am a dyed in red Alabama Football fan. Last night they won the championship so I thought I would use a quote from their Coach Nick Saban. One of the most relaxing phrases I hear when doing yoga is breath with ease. Are we flexible and flowing with ease? Moving through life with this sense of flow instead of being up and down or chaotic can be done. Meditation provides assistance with slowing you down so you can flow around problems more easily. Resolution

Everyday is a fresh start for improvement. Sometimes that day will not be what you wanted but that is not a reason to quit only to understand that you are human. Wake up tomorrow and try again!
