Listening can be a difficult skill to master but it has the greatest benefits if you can. Stepping away from yourself and focusing on someone else can improve your mental state. Too often instead of listening we are thinking about what we want to say about ourselves when the other person finishes talking. Instead we should be taking in what they say and showing support. Meditating today on opening my ears and heart while shutting my mouth.
